Wikipedia for Nurses

As a highly focused nurse, I am often researching medical topics as well as career opportunties. As I was researching nurse travel jobs, I ran into wikipedia where I surprsingly found a lot of information about the travel nursing topic.

I know that I have mentioned Aya healthcare before but I was surprised when I found that Aya healthcare nursing jobs had its own page aling top companies like State Farm Insurance and the Coca-Cola Company.

Going back to the topic at hand, I was a bit skeptical at first about using wikipedia as a source of information about medicine since we all know that wikipedia is setup so that anyone can add and edit text on the site.

However, as I browsed thru the site more, I learned that all content in wikipedia must have some kind of reference to be able to back up your content. This has definitively made a big impact on how I feel about the site now.

Travel Nursing Jobs

I have been receiving many emails about being a travel nurse from the requirements to how to choose a trave nursing agency and my personal recommendations on which travel nursing agency to join.

All of these questions are good ones but there is no straight answer as it all comes down to the travel nursing company.

In general, the basic requirements are:

1. Having a diploma from an accredited health certified profesional program.

2. 18 months of full-time nursing experience in a hospital

When choosing a travel nursing agency/company you, you technically work for them and get benefits according to their requirements. So you want to look at one that provides full health insurance coverage, 401k and also see the perks they offer. So before you make your choice, make sure and talk to a few different agencies.

Of course not all travel nursing companies are the same. You have Aya Healthcare for example that sets the salary based on your experience and the job position.

So look around and find the best one for your needs.
